The project aims to empower higher education institutions (HEIs) in Kosovo and Albania by enhancing their capacity to integrate the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into education, research, and innovation activities. Recognizing the crucial role that HEIs play in shaping the future leaders and policymakers, this project focuses on equipping academic staff with the knowledge and skills necessary to incorporate the SDGs into their teaching and research.

Despite growing recognition of the importance of sustainable development, there is a significant gap in awareness and understanding of the SDGs among staff in HEIs in Kosovo and Albania. This lack of awareness limits the ability of these institutions to contribute meaningfully to sustainable development and hinders the preparation of students to tackle global challenges. The project addresses this gap by providing targeted training, fostering collaboration with experienced institutions from Poland and the Czech Republic, and promoting hands-on implementation of SDG-related initiatives.

The project is funded by the Visegrad Fund within the Visegrad+ Grants, which supports cross-border cooperation and sustainable development efforts in the Western Balkans and Eastern Partnership regions.
