The implementation of the “Impact of the EU in Kosovo” module begins
The module “The impact of EU on peace building, reconciliation and democratization of Kosovo” begins for the spring semester of the academic year 2021/2022. The module is offered as an elective course for second-year students of the Faculty of Economics, Law, Public Administration, Psychology, and Social Sciences.
The lectures will cover topics related to the impact of the EU on the rehabilitation of Kosovo after the conflict, in several areas as follows: Peace building, reconciliation, social dialogue, democratization, diversity and inclusiveness, political capacity building, economic reconstruction and civil society.
In addition to regular lectures, students within this module will be able to attend lectures with guest speakers who are experts in the field, as well as to participate in the realization of a research on the impact that the EU has had in Kosovo.
Guest Speaker: Albulena Haxhiu, Minister of Justice in the Republic of Kosovo
The open lecture with the topic “16 days of activism against the domestic violence in Kosovo” was held by the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs. Albulena Haxhiu. Besides students attending the “EU Impact in Kosovo” module, the lecture was open to interested students of all faculties of AAB College.
Guest Speaker: Laura Kryeziu, Executive Director of Kosovo Leadership andGrowth Council
As part of the "EU Impact in Kosovo" a lecture was held with guest speaker Laura Kryeziu, Executive Director of Kosovo Leadership and Growth Council on the topic “The role of civil society in democracy development of Kosovo in the spirit of EU integration”. The lecture was followed by an open discussion of Mrs. Kryeziu with the students.
Guest Speaker: Dardan Kryeziu, Director for Projects of the CIVIKOS Platform
In the AAB College, as part of the “EU Impact in Kosovo” module, a lecture was held with guest speaker Dardan Kryeziu, Director of Projects from the CIVIKOS Platform. The topic of the lecture was “Impact of the civil society in the policymaking and the report of civil society with the government in fulfilling the criteria of EU integration”. During this lecture Mr. Kryeziu presented to the students some of the main civil society projects and cooperations with governmental institutions in Kosovo in the field of European Integration.
Guest Speaker: Luljeta Demolli, Executive Director of Kosovo Gender Studies Center
A lecture on “European Integration and gender equality” was given by Mrs. Luljeta Demolli, Executive Director of Kosovo Gender Study Center for the students of “EU Impact in Kosovo” study module. During her lecture, Mrs. Demolli focused on presenting the work of the organization she leads and their efforts for gender equality in Kosovo in the spirit of European integration.
Sensitization sessions held across Kosovo
The students of the AAB College who attended the “EU Impact in Kosovo” module, which is offered in the framework of the “EU Impact in Kosovo” project financed by the Erasmus+ Jean Monnet program, conducted 11 sensitization sessions with high school seniors in different municipalities across Kosovo. During these sessions, they had the opportunity to present various topics related to the influence of the EU on important processes in Kosovo, in order to stimulate the interest of young people in European studies. By the end of the project 30 such sessions are planned. The secondary schools in which the sensitization sessions were held were “Shtjefen Gjeqovi“ in Prishtina, “Hamdi Berisha“ in Malishevë, “Fehmi Lladrovci“ in Drenas, “Ulpiana“ in Lipjan, “Hivzi Sylejmani“ in Fushë Kosovë, “Ahmet Gashi” in Pristina, “28 Nëntori“ in Pristina, and Gijimnazi “Jeta e re“ in Suharekë.
